Cox Business provides generous donation of personal protective equipment to Banner Health
CHANDLER, Ariz. (Aug. 5, 2020) – Cox Business donated more than $200,000 worth of filtration and surgical masks to Banner Health this week at its supply chain processing center in Chandler. As Banner Health's frontline health care providers treat patients diagnosed with COVID-19, community partners such as Cox Business continue to show their support.
"With Arizona coronavirus cases rising in the past months, we deeply appreciate the selfless efforts and sacrifices that our hospital partners and their staff are making to meet the health care needs of our community," said Ed Aaronson, Cox Business Vice President. "This face mask donation is part of our ongoing efforts to support healthcare heroes and those in our communities during the pandemic."
Acquiring personal protective equipment, or PPE, remains a challenge for health care systems across the country. Banner Health has taken significant measures to ensure adequate equipment for team members on the front lines. This donation from Cox Business will ensure there’s ample supply in the event future disruptions occur.
"Banner Health has enjoyed a long and mutually respectful relationship with Cox for several years, and we are so thankful for the many ways they support our patient care programs and services," said Andy Kramer Petersen, President & CEO of Banner Health Foundation. "This generous donation to help protect our frontline health care workers as they continue this fight is deeply appreciated by all of us at Banner."
Banner Health Foundation pivoted at the beginning of the pandemic to coordinating donations of all kinds and routing them to the facilities that can best utilize them. That community support has allowed team members to focus on patient care and manage the oftentimes unpredictable behavior of the coronavirus.
